Jungle Tours

It is an active tour where we hike and climb through Pimpilito River near the eastern entrance to the Llanganates National Park. This hike begins southwest of Tena and lasts about 3 to 4 hours.

During th trip our guides will show you a variety of plants and explain the traditional use within the Quichwa culture, we see insects, birds, and if we are lucky enough one or another mammal.

We finish the hike oin one of the most beautiful places near Tena, Wuaysa Yacu natural pools, in this place we can take a swim, relax and take pictures of this wonderful setting.

The Grand Canyon, as it is known among the inhabitants of Monda Yacu, is a place of beauty, clean air and adventure. We start on the road to Quito until we reach Monda Yacu community.

We gear up with the necessary water, sunscreen, insect repellent, etc. Jondachi River is very close to the entrance of the canyon, you can hear its rapids roar. Many waterfalls bathe this beautiful river, one of these will serve as a place of rest and fun. Learn about plants and their uses in everyday life of Qhichwa people.

This hike takes about 3 to 4 hours, and we shall see variety of birds and plants and if we are lucky enough some mammals.

Will be back at Tena around 4 pm.

This tour begins in Puerto Misahuallí when we take the motorized canoe to head towards Pusuno River reservation. This hike lasts approximately 4 hours deep into primary and secondary jungle.

During the hike we will have a great chance to see mammals (monkeys), insects, birds and a variety of plants.

We begin early in the morning and head to Puerto Misahuallí and take a motor canoe down Napo River to reach Selva Viva reserve. We start hiking for an hour into the jungle within the reserve where we can see wild animals such as parrots, toucans, jaguarundis, spider monkeys, squirrels, woolly monkeys and a wide variety of plants.

Then we go to the animal rescue center, the amaZOOnico, we visit it for about an hour or so.

We will have a traditional lunch that could involve tilapia or chontacuros (worm from the palm) maitos.

We take the motor canoe for an hour and a half back to Misahuallí.
